Sheer Reality

Decade in Review: 2008
Best in show for this year?
I scream, you scream, we all scream...
Miucci(a)!

After being suppressed for so long, hidden stuffily away in cedar chests or draped from the caps of white haired widowed invalids, lace took an offensive stance. The material grabbed it status at the front lines of fashion when Prada unleashed their Fall '08 collection. In a fury of
approval, countless other fashion houses began incorporating sheer textiles, including webbing & weave as well as lace, into their clothes & have continued to do so since. Take a look at the Spring '10 looks from Chanel, Rodarte, & Stella McCartney. I have happily surrendered to the fact that this trend has all the longevity of a Miuccia Prada product.
Prada bears arms.
